2026 Teacher Aide Development Programme

At-risk Learners – Neurodiversity – Structured Literacy Practice
Suitable for Primary and Secondary – Successful 2024 and 2025 Programme Revised
Investment cost range from $350 plus GST per teacher to $1500 plus GST per school.
This comprehensive 2-module course provides participants with the
knowledge and skills to support effective literacy teaching in schools using
structured literacy approaches. It also builds the ability to identify student needs and raise achievement for at-risk and neurodiverse learners through a range of skills and practical strategies.
Module 1
Know:
● What structured literacy is
● The science of learning and what research tells us
● The key principles that underpin student success
● The elements of structured literacy
● Why the foundations are so important.
Understand:
● Pre-testing, quality teaching and post-testing
● Whole class and small group teaching using the elements.
Do:
● Implementing all the elements successfully
● Use a range of resources to teach the elements of structured literacy effectively, improving outcomes through pre and post-testing.
Module 1 Effective Structured Literacy Practice
Five Zoom sessions - Wednesdays 1 pm – 2.00 pm
Nine Zoom sessions - Wednesdays 1 pm - 2 pm
Practical implementation with four practice support sessions:
- Wednesdays 1 pm – 2.30 pm.
Module 2 At-risk Learners and Neurodiversity

Week 1 – Understanding and identifying at-risk learners

Week 2 – 32 characteristics of at-risk learners. The multimodal approach to support Wednesdays 1-2 pm

Week 3 – Support philosophies/ The 7 excellences/ Dependence to independence/accommodations/strategies/ expectations/ the role of a teacher aide/learning assistant

Week 4 - Our role in the school/ preparing effectively to maximise student achievement/ The high performing teacher aide

Week 5 - Dyslexia and Dyspraxia

Included in the package:
● Ongoing access to the online recordings and programme resources

The registration cost of the 2026 online programme for individuals is $400.00 plus GST.
The registration cost of the 2026 online programme for 3-6 teacher aides from a school is $350.00 plus GST per person.
Schools may also register an unlimited number of teacher aides/support staff - $1500 plusGST for the entire programme
